I have found even more researchers who came across my web site.

In the Hogg family, I found 2 branches of this family that immigrated to the United States and Canada prior to World War I. One branch came to the U.S. in the early 1900s and settled in Braddock, Pennsylvania. Another branch, of the Hogg family immigrated to Canada and Michigan.

In the Kinnear family I was contacted by a descendent who lives in Arizona, whose great-great grandmother had married a brother of James Kinnear. Not really a blood relative but just as exciting.

Most amazing of all I found a descendent whose great-grand-father was one of the contractors who helped build the Bowman house on 9 Elgin Street.

In the ledger of payments to contractors is a "McLaren and Sons" This was Joseph McLaren and his sons George, David, John, and James. After reviewing all the data I believe that the Bowmans and McLarens were close family friends.

Son George McLaren, married Mary Nicoll. He was killed in France, on November 13, 1916, two days after George Stirling Bowman was killed in Belgium. He was a member of the Highlanders Black Watch and is buried in France.

Below are the links to the Canadian Memorial for George McLaren.

Son David McLaren, was a witness to the marriage of George Stirling Bowman and Jessie McIntosh Robertson.

The McLaren family immigrated to Canada and Michigan and I believe they followed the same immigration pattern as the William Hogg family.
